About Us

100 years ago, 424 young men from Chicago's working class neighborhoods fought for respect and glory in the first "great amateur boxing carnival." Today, everything, and nothing, has changed. Join us as we celebrate 100 years of tradition.

Chicago Golden Gloves Charities Inc., a registered 501 (c)(3), was founded on the belief that training in boxing instills a sense of self-respect, discipline and accomplishment in the youth of our community. Given opportunity through sport, lives can be guided and shaped, resulting in positive, productive citizens.

In addition to hosting the 13-night tournament, Chicago Golden Gloves Charities covers the flights, lodging, meals, uniforms and other expenses for the men's and  women's Open division champions (and officials) to compete at the National Golden Gloves tournament. In addition, we donate to local boxing gyms in need and affiliated organizations.
